Football, football, football … with only days left until Super Bowl XLIV, it seems like the Super Bowl is dominating everything. Hey, we can’t be left out of the fun, can we?
Even if you aren’t a football fan, you might just be tuning in for the big game. There is something about the Super Bowl that brings families and friends together for lots of laughs, cheers, jeers and … well, food. Whether you are rooting for the Colts or the Saint this year … or even if you aren’t sure who to cheer for yet … now’s the time to start planning those super snacks to crunch, dip and chew your way through the game.
Wings and nachos, along with a gigantic sub or pizza, are always popular. But another star of Super Bowl snacks? Veggies. In fact, according to a recent report in the New York Post vegetables are actually the most popular Super Bowl food. Who knew?
One great variation on that is spinach dip, which is a favorite with so many wonderful versions from savory to hot and spicy. My personal favorite is Spinach Artichoke Dip served with extra crispy tortilla chips. The warm dip is delightfully creamy and cheesy. Dotted with bits of spinach and artichokes, it’s just dreamy. You can also serve spinach dips with cut up veggies or bits of bread.
What’s your favorite variation of spinach dip?
