It seems like s’mores have been the star this summer, popping up in all forms from drinks to cupcakes. But there’s always room for one more … and this s’mores tangent has a fruity twist.

Before you send the grill into retirement for the year, you have to make these Grilled Banana Chocolate Melts. A banana is sliced down the middle and stuffed to the max with marshmallows and chocolate chips.

Easy Grilled Banana S'mores Recipe

Wrap it in foil and throw it on a grill for a couple of minutes to get a warm, decadent banana melt. A handful of crushed Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal on top is all you need to add the graham cracker element of your s’more and the perfect amount of crunch to compliment the gooeyness of everything else.

You’re gonna need a spoon for this one … that’s the only way to make sure you get every last morsel of chocolate and melted marshmallow.

Chocolate Banana S'mores Recipe

And it wouldn’t be a s’more if you didn’t get messy. If you can eat this melt using less than five napkins, you are my hero.

No grill?

No worries. Just throw the foil wrapped banana straight on the cooking rack in a 400-degree oven for 5-6 minutes to get the same delicious result. These are also a classic campfire fave! Just add them to your fire for 3-5 minutes and remove carefully with tongs when the chocolate and marshmallow are melted.

Sounds great! Just pointed this on the WW app, and without the cereal it was 8 points! banana, marshmallow and chocolate chips. Worth it for a special treat.

I was having a bit of a sweet tooth and saw this on Pinterest. Definitely a keeper. I didn’t have any marshmallows on hand, but didn’t let that deter me. I used peanut butter and choc chips and topped with a sprinkle of crushed peanuts. I baked them in the oven for a few minutes. Delicious! After my next trip to the store I’ll be sure to get marshmallows to follow the recipe as stated. Looking forward to it!

I JUST made these!!!

We opened up the banana and put the halves side-by-side (like they are spooning!) and loaded these up with toppings. (You don’t need to wrap it in the foil. We set them on the foil and put them in the oven for 6 minutes). The marshmallows toasted like real s’mores. They were great!

Just made this for Granddaughter. In the oven. No foil so I used a Pampered Chef small augratin dish. Oh my. Honey Nut cereal works great too. You do have to watch the kiddos with the hot dish. I Put the dish on a cutting board.

I tried these but I really couldn’t get enough stuff In the banana. When I cooked it the banana stuck to the foil. It was a flop

We made these in Girl Scouts in the 70′s over a camp fire and they were known as Banana Boats. **** the peel and banana about 3/4 s of the depth and inserted pieces of Hershey’s and Marshmallows and wraped them in foil and layed them on the grill or in the coals of the fire.

These are so great, Christy! Thanks for the inspiration! Just made them again (a new fam fave for us) and we shook it up a bit with the new Frosted Toast Crunch cereal, MILK-chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and caramel ice-cream sauce. You just can not imagine…

I too know these as banana boats! Memories of camp as a kid, however we didn’t use cereal and left the skin on and slices the boat through the skin peel. It works well to keep it all together. We then peeled back the tin-foil (if using the oven) turned the oven to broil and browned the marshmallow.

comment on the cereal: I’m sure you could use regular crushed up graham crackers.
