The Pillsbury Bake Off Contest is coming up! So we added a twist to a Bake Off recipe of the past. PB & French silk. And there goes the willpower…
Three words. Chocolate and peanut butter. Pretty much enough said.
How does a light and airy peanut buttery filling topped with silky smooth chocolate sound to you? Heavenly? We think so, too.
The inspiration, you ask? Well, that came straight from the uber-famous Pillsbury Bake-Off French Silk Chocolate Pie. We thought it needed a friend to snuggle up and get all cozy with.
Chocolate and peanut butter are meant to be together — scratch that. Chocolate, peanut butter and cream are meant to be together! What better way to have ‘em get to know each other than in a super decadent tart?
Here’s the how-to:
Start with a Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust. If you want a delicate thin base, roll the crust out a bit on a floured board to make it thinner for this tart recipe – but if time’s short, use it as it is. Then place it into a tart pan.
Next, make it all pretty and cut off the excess dough. Go ahead and bake that bad boy in the oven until lightly browned, then cool it completely. Shouldn’t take long.
Alright, now for the finger lickin’ part. Use a hand blender and mix together cream cheese and peanut butter…
… and sweeten the deal with some sugar.
Then, stir in a little whipped cream to loosen things up a bit…
Once things are all loosey goosey, use a spatula to gently fold in more whipped cream until everything is light and airy.
Steal a taste then add to the cooled tart crust.
Okay, now for the CHOCOLATE! Heat some more cream until it just begins to simmer. Then, pour that over lots of little chocolate chips. Leave it alone for 30 seconds or so … then stir until smooth and silky…
Oh, help us.
Now, spread the chocolate all over the peanut butter tart, let it set for 30 minutes or so and indulge!
