I find it interesting that those people wanting to cast stones at us hide behind anonymous when it’s super easy to make an account. These are our kids, not yours and if we want to make them adorable rainbow waffles then that is our right. Why would you hide behind anonymous if you actually believed in your convictions? You’d show yourself. Thanks for such an amazing idea/recipe. I cannot wait for my son to be old enough to actually enjoy these, then I’ll make them for him.

This is a recipe for ADD — processed flour, processed sugar, and food coloring. Just give them the Lucky Charms and be done with it. Childhood diabetes, hooray. Don’t forget the fake corn-syrup based “maple” syrup. And don’t forget to make ALL your kids food out of garbage, because you are so “busy” (read: lazy).

Hi Anon – You’ll want to heat your waffle maker before piping in your batter. Enjoy!

It should be 7 colors, a light blue and a dark blue. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Roy G Biv.

@angiesg and @anonymous Thanks to both of you! And Angie, you can also just make these in a skillet if you don’t have a waffle maker!

curry powder in waffles? Ummm ummm good I thought edible was a requirement here.

@Anonymous — However you dye the waffles, the rainbow effect is always lots of fun! And you could definitely use a syringe or any kind of bottle to pour the batter too. I just went with pastry bags because that’s what I had in house. :)

savory waffles…to go with fried chicken-add achiote for orange, paprika, beets or tamarind for red, turmeric or curry powder for yellow, spinach powder for green, a teensy bit of blueberry for the blue.

“Personally I would never use bisquick” blahblah blah, they’re awesome so shut up.

Of course you could naturally dye these with fruit! Process the fruit through a juicer first, then mix into a batter. Personally I would never use bisquick anyway seeing as how simple it is to whip together pancake batter with flour, non aluminum baking powder, salt, eggs, and walnut milk xD – Sounds delicious… Thus far the only ones I’ve ever made that were colored were blueberry and came out more on the green side, I’ll have to try with other fruits to get something more vibrant… Thanks for the delicious idea.

Im wondering if, instead of using a piping bag, maybe some sort of syringe, to transfer the batter, like the kind used for injecting a turkey?

Sure, you could probably dye some of these with fruit, but the colors wouldn’t be NEARLY as vibrant.
