Japanese bento boxes are popping up everywhere these days. And why not? They’re a super fun way to tote a meal anywhere!
So we got to thinking: Isn’t it time the Japanese bento lunchbox got a breakfast makeover?
Plastic storage containers or bento-style lunchboxes work well. But it’s easy to make a box yourself, too. For our breakfast bento we used a Trix cereal box – a perfect fit for our breakfast theme (and super easy,too)!
Our breakfast bento is made by filling a cereal box with favorite breakfast picks in rainbowlicious colors — from Trix Cereal to wildly hued fruits.
Here’s how to make a Rainbow Breakfast Bento Box of your very own!
Step 1: Just cut the front of the box to make a cover that opens and closes, and line the bottom with waxed paper and napkins. Then add colorful bowls, paper liners and cookie cutters to make cute little food cubbies.
