We know you like those mini crescent dogs as much as the kids do. So here’s how to make them into an awesome app for your next holiday party!
You may make crescent-wrapped mini dogs for your kids, but who ends up actually eating them? YOU!
Whenever I make “pigs in a blanket” for the kids at our get togethers, guess who’s hands I’m slapping away as I pop them out of the oven? Not the kids. They know better. So why not just give in and transform one of our favorite kid-friendly foods into a festive, and dare I say elegant, appetizer?
We’re dressing them up with a seasoned butter glaze and arranging them into this Mini Crescent Dog Wreath complete with a vibrant red-bell-pepper bow.
Here’s how:
Start with a package of crescent dough and cocktail size sausages.
Cut each triangle into three triangles, and wrap each mini sausage up in the dough.
Once they’ve baked, arrange them in a circle, and make your bell pepper bow. I like to slice a ring of bell pepper to give a slight outline of the bow then cut pieces of bell pepper to fill it in. It’s not rocket science here; anything goes.
You could get creative with your dipping sauces, using barbecue or cranberry sauce, but I stuck with good ol’ ketchup. To add some holiday green, place your dipping sauces on a bed of lettuce in the center.
Enjoy the party!
